Masterclasses can make a real difference
We’re on a mission to normalise menopause in the workplace. One conversation at a time.
Because we’re all about Making Menopause Work – for everyone. As part of that, we believe that better understanding and better support helps everyone feel better about themselves and about their interactions with colleagues. It enhances employee wellbeing and also helps improve productivity.
With the introduction of new legislation making it mandatory for organisations with more than 250 employees to produce menopause actions plans in 2027, employers are waking up to the wider workplace benefits too.
In organisations of all types and sizes, management teams are starting to appreciate that providing practical menopause awareness education and appropriate employee support isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s increasingly critical for staff retention, business performance and organisational reputation.
Expert-led masterclasses can make a real difference. And offering employees and managers access to them is easy way to help improve menopause education and awareness in your workplace.
At MMW, we offer 21 different masterclass subjects to choose between (or perhaps work your way through).
Every menopause experience is different. So individuals and organisations alike need to be able to explore what’s happening and how we can optimally manage it in different ways. Sometimes, it’s not one thing that works, but a selection of approaches that help minimise the impact of symptoms.
As a result, we offer masterclass sessions on everything from brain fog and confidence to mindset and requesting reasonable adjustments in the workplace. Our most popular workshops are around strength, sleep, HRT and gut health.
MMW masterclasses can be booked by employers as standalone options or to form part of your organisation’s menopause support programme, which is typically a more productive way to benefit employees.
In this scenario, your organisation may already have a menopause support group that meets monthly, for example. Making the decision to organise a masterclass every second month – or even during the weeks in between in-person meetings – is a great way to maintain interest and momentum within the group, while also providing options for ongoing support.
Menopause champions are often the driving forces behind these support groups and are very much involved in keeping menopause conversations going. In ways that benefit everyone in the workplace. However, masterclasses might also be organised as an HR initiative or by senior management teams.
As it’s International Women’s Day on 8th March, why not consider booking a one-off masterclass on a subject of your choice to mark the occasion? It could be an easy related event to organise and commit to – helping to raise awareness while also supporting individuals in your workplace.
However you choose to access our masterclasses, you can expect immediate business benefits. Just take a look at this testimonial from ecologist Diane Rollin, who works with our longstanding client the Canal & River Trust:
“Over the last 2 years, Making Menopause Work have provided the Canal & River Trust with some truly expert speakers covering a wide variety of topics all about the menopause. The impact has been phenomenal!
Our colleagues feel valued and supported simply knowing that they can make a request for a discussion topic and that MMW will source the most appropriate expert in that field and provide them with the advice they really need to help them on their menopause journey. Some of the masterclasses have also been attended by colleagues wishing to find out more about a topic to enable them to support others. We can’t recommend MMW enough!”
Every MMW masterclass option is run as an online session, with a recording available for anyone who’s unable to attend live. So no-one has to miss out because of shift patterns, meetings or other commitments.
Interested? Hopefully the question now isn’t whether your organisation should be offering masterclasses around menopause awareness and education, but which topics to prioritise first!
