Clients, Conferences & Conversations

This month Lynda has been out and about, firstly, at the Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering Conference. The conference was in London with over 300 attendees. She met some great people and is looking forward to continuing some of the menopause conversations.

Lynda then teamed up with PC Shendy Blakemore from West Midlands Police to deliver a menopause session on the People and Skills Stage at the Emergency Services Show. Shendy and Lynda were able to discuss some of the solutions for the challenges posed in working shifts and wearing a uniform.

Menopause Champion Training & Menstrual Health

This month we have ran our first Menstrual Health session for our menopause champions. The sessions are being delivered by Lindsay Randerson (pictured above). Our intention is to equip our champions to have wider conversations about women’s health in their workplaces as well as offering support. We want to future-proof for menopause so having these conversations early and understanding the 40 years of what happens before menopause is important.  Please listen here to what Lindsay has to say on this topic and do get in touch if you would like to explore further.

Our Champion Training is now a 3-part course.
2 x 2 hours on menopause and 1 x 1 hour on menstruation.
If you would like more information on booking an Inhouse Champion Training course, or if you would like to book onto one of our Open Champion Courses, please contact [email protected]

Our Clients Making a Difference

We want to start sharing some of our clients’ stories and things they are doing in their organisations to support menopause. So we are starting with the Canal and River Trust who have a great video of them sharing their lived experiences around having those initial menopause conversations.

Canal & River Trust

The Canal & River Trust is responsible for over 2000 miles of canal & river in England & Wales. As a large charity they have embraced supporting those experiencing menopause in lots of different ways over the past two years including making a film to encourage line managers and colleagues to be open to having a conversation about menopause: even if you don’t know anything about it, just having that conversation is a great start and this video tells the story of Ani and her manager Daniel, both of which are now menopause champions, and how they got on with ‘that first conversation’.

World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO)

This month we were delighted to join the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) to deliver our menopause general awareness session.  This was the first such event for them and was supporting the launch of their policy.

It was fascinating learning about who they are and what they do.

For those who don’t know, founded in 1989, WANO unites every company and country in the world that has not only an operating commercial nuclear power plant, but new units under construction to achieve the highest possible standards of nuclear safety.

We enjoyed running the session and received some great feedback too.

“Beyond expectations”

“A good insightful workshop”

“I’m going to think how I can better support my colleagues and family”
